Stress and Insomnia

Stress is one of the major health problems and is responsible for many of our illnesses. It has numerous causes and can affect us in a number of different ways, both mentally and physically. The body's natural response to stress is controlled by the autonomic nervous system and involves the release of the hormones adrenaline and cortisol, which also controls the "fight and flight" mechanism- the body's inbuilt reaction to dangerous or threatening situations. 
While a certain amount of stress is good for us, helping to keep us motivated and interested in tasks, if stress starts to impart on our moods, digestion and sleep, it becomes more of an issue. Try relaxing and soothing essential oils to help you wind down and let go of tension.
Using therapeutic essential oils in a massage is an excellent way to help the body to manage chronic stress, promote relaxation, and improve the quality of sleep if stress is causing insomnia.
